Location: CBD – 151 Flinders St, Adelaide
Luigi’s Delicatessen is a small urban cafe just on the fringe of town, with a warm Italian rustic feel compared to its office-building surroundings. Half its seating is outdoors along the surprisingly peaceful Flinders Street.
I loved that Luigi’s had no hard copy of the menu, instead the waitress read out 4 items they were serving. Definitely makes breakfast decisions much easier! Having been drawn into Luigi’s for the platters I had seen on Instagram, we decided to share one of those. The breakfast platter was enormous – it had 6 poached eggs, a bowl of mushrooms, bowl of bacon, bowl of salmon, bowl of avocado and French Toast. We struggled to finish it; however everything was so delicious we couldn’t stop eating if we wanted to.
Luigi, the owner and namesake was there on the morning, so it was cool meeting him. He was as lovely and welcoming as the all staff there. Highly recommend Luigi’s Delicatessen for an epic breakfast (just be aware brekkie finishes 11:30am on the weekday and 1pm Saturdays). Can’t wait to try their pasta platter soon.
